FACILITIES & EQUIPMENTS

Webcam and Receiving Section

One of the most common dilemmas during the conduct of Pre-Employment Medical Examinations (PEME) is the “switching” of applicants. This happens when a bonafide applicant suspects or knows that he/she has a medical condition that may render him/her unfit for overseas employment; hence, the applicant will employ or seek for another person to undergo the PEME.

In order to preclude the happening of such “switching”, AMDS is equipped with a webcam, among others, where each applicant’s photo is immediately taken upon his/her arrival at AMDS and the said photo is automatically attached to the medical certificate of the said applicant.

The receiving section is roomy, comfortable and well-ventilated receiving area is provided to afford a hassle-free examination. The area can accommodate from 40 to 70 individuals. Polite and well-mannered personnel are attentive to every applicant’s needs.

X-ray Section


AMDS has a considerable x-ray room equipped with a General Electric X-ray Machine with a maximum power of 300MA. A well-experienced radiologic technologist operates the x-ray machine and a highly-trained radiologist examines and evaluates the results promptly. In order to have a quality processing of x-ray films, AMDS uses a Kodak X-Omat Automatic Processor.

Physical Examination Section

Secured and well-lighted rooms, a total of eight (8) rooms (separate rooms for both male and female applicants) are made available to guarantee the privacy of each applicant. The medical director herself and a male physician conduct the physical examination. A consultation area is also provided for the interview of the applicants.

Nurse Station

A well-trained registered nurse will take the applicant’s weight, height and blood pressure, and, if required, conduct ECG test as well Pulmonary / Lung Function Test (Spirometry).

Optical Section

Trained optometrist conducts the examination on the applicants. The optometrist is knowledgeable of the guidelines and/or procedures of different countries as well as other related guidelines for sight examination and visual acuity including color vision examination (Ishihara Test).

Dental Section

A well-experienced dentist conducts the dental check-up including required treatment on the applicants using up-to-date tools and equipments.

Psychology Section

Psychological appraisal and assessment are conducted using a series of comprehensive psychological examinations. A room specially provided for the purpose of which is readily available for the accomplishment of said tests. A competent psychometrician conducts the psychological tests which are thereafter interpreted by an experienced and qualified psychologist.

Laboratory Section

AMDS has a secondary laboratory. To be able to secure a reliable and dependable laboratory results, AMDS acquired modern, latest and advanced laboratory equipments, among others, Model Biorad 680 Microplate Reader, Minilab Washer PW40, Biorad Incubator, Stat Fax 1904Plus, Biomicroscope with Oil Immersion, Centrifuge Model 800, Micro Hemotocrit Centrifuge, Differential Counter, VDRL Rotator and others. In addition, a separate room is made available for clinical microscopy, where the routine fecalysis and routine urinalysis is being conducted. AMDS’ pathologist periodically checks on the laboratory examinations conducted by our medical technologists.

Also AMDS is accredited facility by the Department of Health to conduct Drug Test Screening.

ECG Area

AMDS is equipped with a Cardiette ECG machine, a portable electrocardiograph with thermal head printer (60mm, high resolution) and digital interface IR. A trained nurse conducts electrocardiogram examination to applicants who are aged forty (40) years old and above. Also electrocardiogram examination is conducted to applicants when advised by the examining physician.

Audiometry Section

AMDS has a Maico Model MA 39 Audiometer, an accurate apparatus devised to allow easy, prompt and dependable hearing analysis. Its function varies from pre-employment medical assessments / examinations and monitoring audiometry for hearing curricula. This instrument afford all of the pure tone frequencies and full dynamic range required by the American National Standards Institute S3.6 1996. Maico audiometers have been devised to meet the most meticulous of electrical safety standards and to provide long periods of reliable function with a tough sturdiness that has become the image of Maico audiometers.

Spirometry Section

AMDS is equipped with Schiller Spirovit SP-1 which is an exceptional answer to an intricate pulmonary / lung function testing. Its high resolution patient incentive screen puts on view the real-time flow/volume loops and detailed measurement matrices. The data can be either printed within seconds or transmitted to PC. It performs FVC, SVC, MVV, MV and pre/post.

EDP and PROCESSING SECTION

AMDS’s medical results are encoded in a secured computer program (using Visual Basic Version 6.0) specially designed for AMDS. AMDS had obtained the services of highly-skilled computer personnel, who, sees to it that its computer system and program are in good operational condition.

The EDP Section provides AMDS’s medical certificates with security markings and mechanisms to ensure that the same cannot be duplicated and or copied making certain the genuineness of every medical certificate issued by AMDS.
